One River (running)
October 22 - December 18, 2005

This immersive audio environment was filled with narrated stories about Surrey’s past or imagined future, recorded by Surrey citizens. Sensors placed through the exhibit triggered by visitors’ movements, and activated the artwork’s voices and video. The artists say “One River (running) explores the tributaries of culture and history that combine to make up a contemporary Canadian multi-cultural community. Voices speaking different languages twined and travelled around the gallery in an orchestrated polyphony mixed with sounds from the urban and natural environment of Surrey”
